Why refinishing beats replacing
Most kitchens in Northeast Florida have solid cabinet boxes with dated doors and a finish that has worn through around the handles. Replacing them means demolition, countertop risk and weeks without a kitchen. Refinishing keeps the layout and the boxes, and changes the thing you actually look at.
The result depends almost entirely on preparation. Doors and drawer fronts are labeled and removed, hardware is bagged by location, and everything is degreased — kitchen cabinets carry years of cooking oil that will reject paint if it is left in place. We then scuff-sand every surface, fill grain or damage where a smooth look is wanted, and apply a bonding primer made for slick factory finishes.
Doors are sprayed off-site or in a controlled setup so there are no brush marks, and boxes are sprayed in place with the kitchen fully masked. We finish with a hard cabinet-grade enamel that cures to resist fingerprints, cleaning products and daily use, then rehang everything and adjust the hinges so doors line up.
